Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Member Prices app ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you install and use it on your Shopify store.

What the App accesses

The App requests the write_discounts access scope. With it, the App creates and manages the member-pricing discount you configure and reads its own Shopify Function. It also stores your member-pricing rules (segment tags and percentages) as a shop metafield. To operate as an embedded Shopify app, the App stores a Shopify-issued session (your shop domain and access token) so it can authenticate API requests on your behalf.

Customer personal data

The App does not collect, store, or process the personal data of your customers. At checkout, Shopify's own systems determine whether a logged-in customer's tags match a segment and apply the discount; the App does not receive or retain customer records. The App's server only stores your member-pricing configuration (segment tags and percentages) and your Shopify session.

How information is used

• To authenticate and serve the embedded admin interface.
• To save your member-pricing rules and keep the checkout discount in sync.
• To process your subscription through Shopify Billing.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing. We do not use your data to train machine-learning models.

Data retention & deletion

When you uninstall the App, Shopify notifies us via the app/uninstalled webhook and the associated session is removed. The App also implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks — customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. Because the App stores no customer personal data, there is nothing to return or erase for customer requests; shop-level data is deleted on shop/redact.

Data security

Session tokens are stored in our database and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We follow Shopify's platform requirements for app security and OAuth.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
